Wizards strong message to ‘Make a Difference’ to those affected by Bullying.

Aberavon RFC is pleased to announce that they will be working determinedly to support and raise awareness of the BulliesOut charity based in Cardiff.

BulliesOut work tirelessly to change the lives of those affected by bullying and strive to make a difference.

The charity sees huge changes in people through the way young people engage in their projects.

The charity is able to achieve this by empowering young people to ‘Make a Difference’ and help facilitate those people to develop confidence and learn new skills.

Wizards Commercial Manager Chris Davies views the support of the charity as very important for the local area.

“We have a duty as the lead rugby club in the area to act as role models in Port Talbot.

Aberavon RFC are delighted to support the charity. It is therefore vital that we act accordingly in raising awareness of the charity.”

Linda James MBE, BulliesOut Founder and Chief Executive Officer [CEO], is very positive of the support from Aberavon RFC.

“We are thrilled that Aberavon RFC have chosen BulliesOut as their charity to support this year.

Continued support of our work means a great deal to us and we really appreciate it”.

BulliesOut develop a positive ethos across a whole school/organisation community, and can create an environment that meets the emotional, academic and social needs of pupils and staff.

“The aim is to raise sufficient funds to provide the charity with enough resource to engage with all of the Port Talbot schools.

Hopefully we will be in a position to approach the local schools and offer them the innovative and interactive workshops that BulliesOut provide,” said Commercial Manager Chris Davies.

The charity believes that ‘creating an anti-bullying and respectful ethos is a powerful way to ‘Inspire Change.’

With the support from organisations like Aberavon RFC, BulliesOut can promote their ethos.

“BulliesOut does not receive any government funding and relies heavily on donations and fundraising activities to ensure we can continue to deliver our much-needed work.

To continue to provide the support that so many young people need, we rely on the generosity of people like the team at Aberavon RFC,” said Linda James MBE.

Aberavon RFC will be organising bucket collections, fundraising events, charity dinners and much more to help raise the awareness and raise funds for the charity.

Chris Davies spoke of the importance of creating an awareness of bullying.

“Bullying is often misunderstood. People need to understand how bullying can manifest, how it can be prevented and how it should be dealt with.

In understanding that, or raising awareness on those points will help sufferers and perpetrators alike to disengage from the bullying cycle.

We have either suffered from being bullied, know someone who has been bullied or likewise have been the bully.

We all need to ‘Stand up and Speak Out. Make a Difference.”

BulliesOut Linda James added:

“Thank you again. Every penny helps make a huge difference to those affected by bullying.”

The Wizards will be creating a call of action to members of the Port Talbot community to raise funds and awareness of the spectacular work that BulliesOut provide.

Head Coach of Aberavon RFC, Jason Hyatt, will walk the Gower Ultra in May in aid of the charity.
